In other news, I am almost done with high school. After 12 years of school, it's an exciting prospect, especially since i'll be leaving home. far, far away to Iowa where my only friend is corn. But really, after these last three days of school, i won't have anything to do. I'm really at a loss for what to expect. I have from the 18th to the 7th to get ready for camp, start getting ready for college, and manage to keep in touch with my friends. It'll be weird. Usually summers mean a break from school. This time it's the END of school. I'll have no summer reading, no summer assignments excpet those I assign myself. I know, I know; I'm still going to be going to school, but it's going to be a whole different kind of school. It's a school without parents and curfews, without dress codes and really conservative people. I'm really really looking forward to it, but it's still a scary prospect. I'm scared I won't be able to keep up with the work load and I'm scared I won't like it at Grinnell. Most of all, though, I'm scared I'm going to lose touch with everyone from high school. It's a really upsetting thought, but I'm just so bad at keeping in touch. I hardly even talk to people from camp, and those people are the best ever. I guess I'll have to work on that aspect of myself, but I don't know. This really is an unusual time in my life. Here's to a new era! and maybe a new erin! Now i'm going to go cut my hair. And I saw a doggy on the side of the road. And I passed it. And she ran out in the road after me. So I said, "Lauren, I think we're turning around to get that dog now." And she said, "Okay." So I pulled over, put on my hazard lights, and put out my hand to stop the oncoming traffic. (yes, i stopped oncoming traffic!) And I grabbed the doggy, put her in the car, and took off! She subsequently tried to jump out of the window, so I had to put up the window. After bringing her to an acquaintance's house, where we called the numbers on her tag, we hung out. We took her out on the boat with Ansley, Lyndsie, Lauren, and said acquaintance. She tried to jump off. When we left Anderson, I took the doggy home with me. I made her a bed out of my old comforter, and she slept the night away. This morning, my acquaintance called to say that her owner called. Then we called him. He came all the way from Anderson to get his puppy. We met him in the parking lot of Target, and she hopped out of our car right into his truck!
